Facial lipoatrophy

In facial lipoatrophy, volume loss is due to atrophy of facial adipose tissue and the disease manifests mainly in the cheeks, temples and the preauricular, orbital and perioral regions.

Pathological deficits in facial or dermal volume can be successfully restored through the use of hyaluronic acid, regardless of cause or location.

Another feasible treatment for lipoatrophies is lipotransfer, discussed in this section (click here).
