Lips play an important role in the aesthetics of the face.
In particular, lip fullness is a key factor associated with attractiveness, beauty and youth.
There are several surgical and non-surgical reconstructive procedures that aim to restore oral competence, anatomical structures and provide attractive aesthetic results.
Among non-surgical reconstructive procedures, dermal filler based on hyaluronic acid is one of the most used treatments.
Its advantages over other filler materials include its natural appearance, its antioxidant effect and its anti-inflammatory activity. In addition, it stimulates tissue regeneration and wound healing by providing a suitable structure for cell growth.
Hyaluronic acid injections are very effective at least up to 6 months post-injection. Even after a year, in almost half of the patients, lip volume continues to increase significantly. Additionally, most adverse effects after hyaluronic acid treatment are mild or moderate.
