Preauricular tags

Preauricular tags represent ectodermal inclusions related to the aberrant development of the auditory tuberculs.

They are present in front of the external auditory canal and contain small remains of cartilage inside.

Surgical excision is performed primarily due to cosmetic concerns.

This excision is recommended after one year of age.
