Dermoid and eyebrow tail cyst

Dermoid cysts or brown tail cysts are congenital cysts that are lined by skin with pilosebaceous structures. Typical locations are under the lateral part of the eyebrow, scalp, labella, tip of the nose, and orbit.

Dermoid cysts are usually round, soft and often attached to deep tissues or bone. They usually present as a painless mass 1 to 2 cm in diameter, but can grow to 4 cm or more if left untreated.

Surgical excision should be considered as early as 3 years old.
