Ranula and Mucocele

A ranula is a mucocele arising in the floor of the mouth, secondary to obstruction of the salivary ducts of the sublingual glands.

Most mucoceles tend to resolve spontaneously. Expectant management is advised. Excision if persistence or according to size.
